I'm a data science educator and community builder who wants to help you cultivate a community of practice for yourself. I talk a lot about the benefits of making genuine human connections, the power of vulnerability, and why we all benefit when we show up as our whole selves. I'm also the host of the Data Humans podcast where my motto is: data science is not one thing.

John Stanton-Geddes is a Sr. Manager for the Advanced Analytics Marketing team at HP Inc. The globally distributed team uses econometric and Bayesian methods to measure, evaluate and optimize HP’s placement, promotion and marketing activities. He speaks the fewest languages of anyone on his team! Previously, he worked at Cox Automotive where he led a team that developed recommendation engines, vehicle sales prediction models and advertising fraud detection methods.
Prior to being an industry data scientist, he worked in ecological genomics at the University of Vermont, where satisfied a life-long goal of getting paid to crush ants. He has a PhD in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology with a minor in Statistics from the University of Minnesota, and a BA in Biology from Amherst College. He once had spare time, but he now spends most of it at his kids’ hockey, soccer, lacrosse and swim events.
