To exploit the full potential of data science, a proper IT infrastructure is needed. In most companies, developers work locally on their computers and use different versions of programs and packages. In order to pull data science into production, a central infrastructure is needed to improve collaboration and meet compliance requirements.
In this German-speaking webinar the success story of Covestro’s RStudio infrastructure will be presented. The challenge for the leading German material manufacturer was that no common development environment existed. With the help of Eoda and RStudio, a reproducible, centralized development environment for R and Python was created. This project presents a best practice approach to a data science infrastructure using Covestro as an example.
The second half of this 2-hour webinar will be a hands-on workshop that you can follow along with. The instructors will discuss how to use RStudio products with its native git integration and show you multiple approaches on how content can be deployed to RStudio Connect. This will provide your team with an excellent collaborative workflow for building, maintaining and scaling projects in a growing data science environment.

Oliver Bracht sieht als Chief Data Scientist und Mitgründer der eoda GmbH täglich die Herausforderungen, vor denen die Unternehmen heute stehen. Er erlebt aber auch, welche Chancen sich durch innovative Ideen und den Mut zur Veränderungen ergeben. Sein Ziel Unternehmen sollen mehr aus ihren Daten machen.
Christian Ewald ist seit 2017 in den Bereichen Data Science und aicon der eoda GmbH tätig. Im Bereich Data Science arbeitet er als R-Entwickler, spezialisiert auf die Entwicklung von WebApps mit shiny. Im Bereich aicon widmet er sich größtenteils der Evaluation und Implementierung von aktuellen Infrastruktur & DevOps-Technologien. Privat interessiert er sich für Operationalisierung und Optimierung im Bereich Cloud-Computing.
Ralf Stubner arbeitet als Solutions Engineer für RStudio, nachdem er zuvor technische und beratende Positionen in der Finanz- und IT-Industrie inne hatte. Er ist ausgebildeter Physiker und analysiert gerne komplexe Systeme.
Daniel Schultz sieht sich selbst eher als Daten-Tüftler und weniger als Data Scientist. In seiner aktuellen Position bei der Covestro Deutschland AG treibt er die Digitalisierung der Branche voran. Neben der Einführung von Data-Science-Produkten konzentriert sich Daniel auf den Aufbau einer aktiven Data-Science-Community und Explainable AI. Als solcher verbessert er die allgemeine Datenkompetenz bei Covestro.
