Introducing the Posit Impact Awards
You help the world make sense of data.
Your work changes how organizations think, make decisions, and act. Over the years, we've had the privilege of working with so many incredible teams doing exactly that. Teams who have automated work that used to take weeks, gotten critical insights into the hands of the people who need them, and built tools that reach thousands of stakeholders.
Some of that work is saving money. Some of it is saving time. And some of it is saving lives.
The impact you're having is real, and we want to celebrate it.
What are the Posit Impact Awards?
The Posit Impact Awards exist to find those stories and bring them into the light. We're looking for individuals and teams who used Posit tools to create measurable, meaningful change, and who are willing to share what they built, how they did it, and what it made possible.
Six winners will be selected, one per category, and each will receive a conference-only pass to posit::conf(2026) in Houston, TX, September 14-16, 2026.

The Categories
- Mission-Critical Impact: You're solving high-stakes problems where the work really matters: clinical trials, patient outcomes, public health, humanitarian work, and the like.
- ROI & Efficiency Champion: You've delivered quantifiable cost savings, reclaimed hours, or automated reporting pipelines that used to eat up time.
- Scale & Reach: You've built apps, reports, or other data products that reach the masses, whether across your team or out to the wider world.
- Transformation Story: You've got a compelling before-and-after arc. Tell us how painful the old process was and why things are so much better now.
- Community Builder: You brought others along through internal user groups, training programs, or cross-team adoption.
- Open Source Contribution: You're contributing back to the Posit community or the broader R and Python ecosystem in meaningful ways.
What Does Winning Look Like?
Six (6) winners will be selected, one per category. Each winner will receive one (1) conference-only pass to posit::conf(2026), taking place in Houston, TX, September 14–16, 2026, and an award that will be presented in Houston or shipped to you if you're unable to join us in person. Approximate retail value: $1,349 per pass. Passes include access to all keynotes, sessions, evening events, and on-demand talks. Workshops and travel are not included.
Winners will also be featured in a Posit blog post, celebrated on social media, and highlighted through other Posit communications. We want to make sure the community gets to hear what you built.
If you're selected and can't make the 2026 dates work, you can choose to apply your pass to posit::conf(2027) instead. And if you've already purchased a 2026 pass, your winners pass can be used next year.
About posit::conf(2026)
posit::conf is our annual gathering for the R and Python data science community. It's three days of workshops, talks, and the great kind of hallway conversations that happen when you put us all in a room together. This year it comes to Houston, TX on September 14-16, 2026, with workshops on September 14 and the main conference running September 15-16 (also available virtually).
The 2026 program includes more than 100 talks across four tracks, plus workshops and community events. Check out a preview of the agenda here.
Who Can Enter?
Anyone using Posit products is eligible, whether that's open-source tools or professional products like Workbench, Connect, or Package Manager.
Deadline: July 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM, wherever you are in the world.
Winners will be notified by July 31, 2026.
What We Ask
The submission form takes about 15-20 minutes. We recommend drafting your answers in a separate document first so you can take your time, then paste them in. You can edit your responses any time before the deadline.
Here's a preview of what we'll ask:
- The problem you were solving and what the "before" looked like
- What you built, improved, deployed, or created
- What changed as a result: what can your organization do now that it couldn't before?
- Advice you'd give someone who wants to do something similar
- Screenshots, charts, dashboards, or links to your work (optional, but powerful)
We'll also ask you to share the impact in numbers. What's the one metric you'd most want to lead with? Estimates, ranges, and honest approximations are all welcome. And we know that some of the most important things are hard to capture in a number. There's immense value in being able to do something that just wasn’t possible before.
Cheers to You
We're amazed by this community and the work you do every day. We hope you'll take 15 minutes to tell us your story, or nominate someone else who deserves the recognition.
