Register for R/Pharma at posit::conf(2025)
Join us starting on September 15 at posit::conf(2025) to discuss the future of open-source drug development with experts from Genentech, GSK, JnJ, Novartis, Roche, Posit, and many more!
We’re excited to partner with R/Pharma for their in-person events at our conference at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta. Together, we’ll learn from and engage with experts at pharmaceutical organizations working towards transparent and collaborative Open Source drug development and clinical trials.
The partnership consists of two in-person activities at posit::conf:
- The “R/Pharma Summit” for pharma leaders and managers leading open-source initiatives. It will be held on September 15. Learn more about the R/Pharma Summit.
- The “End-to-End Submissions in R with the Pharmaverse” and “Deploying Reproducible Analytics Environments for Regulated Use Cases” workshops for data and reporting professionals are on September 16. Learn more about the workshops.
Following the R/Pharma events will be two full days of keynotes and talks (some about pharma) on September 17 and 18 at posit::conf(2025).
You can register for the entire conference (which consists of the R/Pharma Summit, a choice of workshops, and the general conference) or for the specific events that interest you.
Monday, September 15: R/Pharma Summit
Posit and R/Pharma will host the R/Pharma Summit at posit::conf(2025) in Atlanta on September 15th. This in-person event, aimed at open-source initiative leaders in pharmaceutical development, will focus on the future of drug development using open-source tools. Building on previous summits, discussions facilitated by industry leaders will address key topics such as reproducibility, interactivity, submissions, and scalability for next-generation submissions. An advisory board comprising representatives from over ten pharma companies, CROs, and academic centers is shaping the agenda.

Tuesday, September 16: Pharma Workshops
In addition to the Summit, R/Pharma is hosting two in-person workshops, “End-to-End Submissions in R with the Pharmaverse” and “Deploying Reproducible Analytics Environments for Regulated Use Cases”, on September 16.
“End-to-End Submissions in R with the Pharmaverse”, led by Daniel D. Sjoberg (Genetech) and Becca Krouse (GSK), will provide a hands-on introduction to using R and Pharmaverse packages for a streamlined regulatory submission process, covering data preparation, CDISC compliance, and TLG generation. Participants will learn to optimize their workflow from raw data to publication-ready outputs.
“Deploying Reproducible Analytics Environments for Regulated Use Cases,” led by James Black (Novartis), Orla Doyle (Novartis), and Doug Kelkhoff (Roche), addresses the challenges and opportunities of deploying reproducible R analytical environments in regulated industries. Through a mix of discussions and exercises, the workshop will focus on containerization, package management, compliance, and sharing with regulators.
September 17 – September 18: Pharma talks at posit::conf(2025)

To register for the in-person R/Pharma events in September:
- Go to the posit::conf(2025) event portal and create an account.
- Fill out the required fields.
- On the “Select Your Package(s) Below” page, select your choices from the following:
- Conference Pass for the general conference talks on September 17 and 18
- Workshop Pass, then select your choice for the workshops on September 16
- R/Pharma Roundtable Summit Pass for the in-person roundtable on September 15
- Submit the order.
