Posit Connect Goes GA in the Snowflake Native App

Plus: Posit Package Manager enters Public Preview

Posit has announced that Posit Connect is generally available in the Posit Team Snowflake Native App, bringing production-ready deployment of Shiny applications, Jupyter notebooks, Quarto documents, and REST APIs directly inside the Snowflake Data Cloud, with no separate infrastructure required. Alongside this milestone, Posit Package Manager is entering Public Preview in the same native app, giving IT and data science teams a governed, Snowflake-native repository for open-source R and Python packages, including vulnerability reporting and AI-agent-ready tooling. (Data teams can start a free 30-day trial from the Snowflake Marketplace.)

What’s New in Posit Connect for the Native App?

• Email Notifications & Scheduled Reports: Connect now supports email delivery via SMTP. Administrators can configure email settings directly from the management page to enable email for password resets, content notifications, and scheduled report delivery. Note: This requires additional Snowflake account configuration.
• Latest Version: Connect has been upgraded through 2026.03.0 and 2026.02.0, bringing a host of improvements and fixes.

Posit Package Manager: Govern Open-Source Packages in Snowflake
