Data Science Hangout

Helping data people grow together

We’ve built a space for data people who want to grow, learn, and make real friends along the way.

No matter your title, background, or years of experience, if you care about learning from other people, hearing honest stories, cracking jokes in the chat, and sharing what you’ve learned, you’ll fit right in here.

What can you expect at a Data Science Hangout?

No slides, no scripts, no marketing. It's just real talk with a data science leader driven entirely by the questions you bring. This is not a webinar. It's a hangout!

You're in the driver's seat: There’s no agenda. You decide what we talk about. Ask what you’ve always wanted to ask a fellow data person!

The human side of data

We talk about navigating messy projects, communicating with non-data folks, burnout, career moves, and imposter syndrome. In the chat, we share resources, post job openings, and help each other in real time. It’s kind of a party in there.

Come as you are: Camera on, camera off, walking the dog, listening like a podcast. Drop in for 10 minutes or stay the whole time to talk with friends. Nothing will ding when you enter or leave.

Want more hands-on technical learning too? We have that as well!

In addition to the Hangout, we get together every Tuesday for the Data Science Lab. It's an unscripted, friendly space for technical community learning, spotlighting developers from both Posit & the data community
